Somewhere, a Tikbalang is getting married...

I like walking in the rain. It's just very inconvenient, that's all. If you have a warm bath and clean clothes waiting for you, then it's all good.

I went to the gym earlier today. I forgot to bring my iPod so I was forced to whatever they had playing on the in-house speakers. Just my luck, someone put on the first Spice Girls CD on. Song after song, I felt like I was going deeper into the 90s. What struck me as odd and disturbing was this one scary-looking dude at the gym. Big guy, all hairy and muscular, with a rough looking moustache and beard. Give him an eyepatch and a hat and you've got yourself a pirate. Anyway, this dude, I'll call him Bruno, starts singing along to 'Say You'll Be There' as it played. I thought it was just a one song thing, but the next song played and Bruno kept on singing like it was karaoke night at Camp Fruitcake. I made it a point not to go back to the changing room at the same time as Bruno, in fear that my ass would be ravaged.

As I left the gym, I passed by this grocery store on the way back home because I was in the mood to cook. For the record, I don't cook. I want to learn, so what better place than here? What better time than now? (spot the quote) I knew I liked this particular grocery store because 1. it wasn't crowded and 2. they started playing Weezer on the radio while I was in there. Not just any Weezer song. Pork and Beans. As I walked out of the grocery store, I realized it was raining. Hard. I was hungry so I decided to walk through the rain with just my hoodie and without an umbrella. Ella. Eh. Wala pang 10 minutes, nasa bahay na ako. Okay lang. Iligo ko na lang pagdating ko, I thought. The rain didn't show any mercy, and the trees along the way did not offer any shelter at all since their leaves had fallen already. I continued along this long shelterless road, encountering no one as I splashed through puddles. No one else thought it was a good idea to walk through the rain. They're missing out. The sun shined shortly after while the rain continued to fall. May kinakasal na tikbalang, I imagined as I rounded the last corner towards the apartment. I stepped into the front door, and the rain finally stopped.
