It was a pretty surreal night. Sharon Cuneta and her entourage were 2 tables away from me and she directly in my line of sight. All I can say about her is that she is tupperware. Wait, why am I am talking about Sharon Cuneta? Erase erase.

Mighty Meaty
Last night, I was a vicious carnivore. As much as I understand the plight of vegetarians, I could not turn down a good steak. The fact that it was free made it taste even better. Who would've thought that a bloody slab of cow seared on a grill would taste so bloody good? I was never really into rare steak, but after trying the steak at this place called "i Butteri" I changed my mind. One of our bosses decided to treat us to dinner last night. I did not bring my camera to take a picture of this glorious steak, nor did my phone have a camera to capture it's majestic beefiness. Instead, I will show you a picture from our first visit there a few months ago during the 'Caregiver' premiere in Rome:

It was a pretty surreal night. Sharon Cuneta and her entourage were 2 tables away from me and she directly in my line of sight. All I can say about her is that she is tupperware. Wait, why am I am talking about Sharon Cuneta? Erase erase.

*grumble*
A full bladder and long, bumpy bus ride along the cobble-stoned streets of Rome do not mix.
The view was really nice, though.

After thinking for a while, Mrs. Tanoy said: "Ok, para

Meme III
I was going to post something else... but I realized that I haven't jumped that cliff yet. Kasi you guys jumped na. Of course, kailangan kong gumaya.
1. What were you doing 10 years ago?
1. What were you doing 10 years ago?
I went to my first real concert. Edgefest in Ottawa, headlined by Green Day and the Foo Fighters. Left Canada to start a new life. Started my first year at DLSU and met my brothers from other mothers. Discovered the Philippines once again.
2. What 5 things are on my to-do list today?
Stop, look, listen. Breathe... and stop.
3. Snacks I enjoy:
Normally salty stuff like popcorn, Chippy, cornick, potato chips. Hmm... what a boring list. Let's spice it up. I like fried cockroaches dipped in hotsauce, frogs legs in worshhchchchhcshire shauce(however it's pronounced), a slice of watermelon topped with mustard and parmesan between two slices of white bread, balut with vanilla icecream, a baked potato stuffed with green mango and chutney.
4. Places I've lived:
Canberra, Las Pinas, Ottawa, Saronno, Milan, Slough(for 3 months), Rome
5. Things I'd do if I were a billionaire:
Buy happiness. (Don't pronounce that sentence with a French accent.)
6. People I want to know more about:
Look in the mirror.

Time is never time enough
I thought the clocks were changing this morning. I came to work 1 hour late today. Haha. Can't blame me though... I got an email from one of our supervisors that had this as the subject line:
"DST to end this Sunday"
But if you read the email closely, he says "Sunday, October 26." Nyek. Maybe he did it on purpose to see if we really read our emails? Good thing I wasn't the only victim.
Looks like it's the start of a busy day.
*EDIT* I forgot to add... when I logged into Sametime Connect earlier (the intercompany IM client), our Managing Director just happened to be online on a Sunday morning. Knowing him... he was online just to check what time we'd come into work today. Shet na malagket!!!

Ronald Mcdonald's invisible grip
I've literally slept though this whole day. Still have a bit of a hangover from last night. <3 What a great way to spend my day off :)
This is probably what it feels like to be a call center agent.
Nabangongot ako! Sometime in the afternoon, I dreamt that my door suddenly swung open and someone walked it. I opened my eyes, but I was paralyzed(that rhyme was unintentional). I didn't see the person who walked in. In fact, I don't think anyone walked in at all. I remember trying to move... trying to scream... but I couldn't. I was frozen, but my eyes were open. The thing is, it didn't feel like a dream. It felt real. This has happened many times before. The worst is when it happens late at night. The feeling can be described as... pure terror. It's different from being frightened because that usually happens when your mind plays tricks on you (Ay, may mumu dyan! Takot ako!). I use the word terror because being paralyzed and aware of what is happening around you is a really bad feeling. Since it's happened so many times, I know how to deal with it already. I previously thought it was something supernatural and external, but I read somewhere that the 'bangongot' paralysis happens biologically because at one point in time, our ancestors slept in trees. The sleep paralysis occurred to prevent us from falling from the branches. I don't know if this theory is true, but it's good enough for me. I also read that when the 'bangongot' happens, don't panic. I think that's how some people die from 'bangongot', when they panic and have some sort of heart attack. So I just lay there, cool as a cucumber. To regain control of your body, I learned that it starts with the toes. Start wiggling them. Something about them being the body part farthest from the brain leaves them the least susceptible to paralysis. It works though.
When I finally crawled out of bed, my belly told me to get some food. I just put on whatever was lying around since it was 8pm and I'm not out there to impress nobody then I walked out the door. I had no clue where to get food. I just let my feet do the walking to lead me wherever. Instinctively, I ended up at Mcdo. I don't know why. I think that happens whenever I don't have a particular craving. Walang kamatayang Mcdo. The walk to Mcdo was really nice and refreshing. There was a cool breeze that reminded me that it's Autumn, one of my favorite seasons. It was still rush hour and the nearest Mcdo was at the always busy Rome Termini train station. As I walked through the crowds of tourists and rush hour traffic, I suddenly missed Manila. In two months time I'll be there again to continue our love/hate relationship. Until then, I've got some travelling to do. My feet are getting itchy. And I just remembered: May nunal nga pala ako sa paa.
This is probably what it feels like to be a call center agent.

Fantasy becomes reality
I saw this feature earlier on TFC for the most amusing footwear company evarrr. So I googled them and this is what I found. Is it possible to fall in love with a shoe? Haytinkso...

Lolabets... kung ito ang gagamitin mong pang-hapipit sa akin... swing away. :)
Whether shoe or fruit
Nourishing and comforting
Panalo tayo

haiku'd do this again and again...
Ok, so I was supposed to see John Legend and The Cure for free tonight, but there was a buttload of people at the Piazza so I'm pretty sure it would've been impossible to see them for they would have looked like ants. But that's ok, I saw something much much better tonight. *smiley face*

haiku'd do this all night...
So I've been inspired to take photos again. I went out earlier to do some night photography. I'm not too happy with the results. I feel 'rusty' like I haven't picked up my camera in ages. I went out with a tripod. Wheee long exposure.

Haikus are fun. I think I'll make it a habit to end every entry with one.
Night falls sooner now
Light the end of the tunnel
January star

uno, dos tres are on fire!
I'm planning on meditating under a Bodhi tree for the next 3 weeks.
I will, however, try to take 5 minute breaks every day to post a blog entry.
I'll end this one with a haiku.
Tonight I'm alone
Beer and chippy to consume
Wish I had my fruit

Random Ramblings at 1:17am
I just had 3 pints of lager with my new "boss" and my colleagues from Milan and the U.S. offices. I typed this all earlier offline. I wish I could type more but my colleagues have an early meeting tomorrow morning so I have to turn over the keys to the office:
I'm typing this all offline. My wireless connection here keeps dropping and it's bugging me. The IT guys have been here at the office since yesterday and they've been doing all these weird things to our office internet connection. It was all working fine before they got here; when they leave tomorrow it best be fixed lest my foot meets their asses.
I'm still amazed/amused that Kimbo Slice got KTFO last Saturday by an relatively unknown fighter. It was hilarious.
i'm going crazy without a certain someone. hint: her nickname refers to a fruit.
I bought a Smart sim card at the Smart sponsored event yesterday. It was a bit of an impulse buy; I saw their flier and compared the prices to my current sim card. Their rates are much cheaper than what I have right now so I forked out the cash. 10 euro lang naman, may kasama nang 6 euro load. Huway nat? After examining the card, I read the tiny print that says "it only works on 3G phones, sucker." Or something along those lines. As you ma
The temperature has dropped alarmingly ever since the hard rainfall last Saturday. I don't have my winter clothes here so I had to take a TFC jacket from our inventory. Medyo nababaduyan akong isuot sya sa labas ng office. It's either that or freeze my isabetlogs off.
I wonder if the temperature will rise again? I hope it does...

o canada... (part I)
betlog's mention of canadian bands in my previous post prompted me to look for old songs that remind me of good times. thanks to youchoob, these songs are a few keyboard strokes and mouse clicks away. if you miss that 90s "alternative" sound in a canadian flavour, read on...
sloan - the good in everyone
i love songs with hand-claps. if i were in a band, every song would have hand-claps. seriously. the intro to the video for this song is a bit long, so you can fast forward to about 2:10 to go straight to the muzak.
rusty - misogyny
yes, the video is all about male prostitutes and their male clientele. awesome song nonetheless. charing!
treble charger - even grable
i like the intro to this song. i think the band was more known for their song 'red' but that song is kind of a downer to post.
age of electric - enya
another sweet but simple opening riff. don't remember much about this band except maybe two other songs...
i mother earth - raspberry
i've always liked this band. never really liked their name but the same can be said about a lot of good bands. there are urinals in the background of this video. how convenient! i have a weak bladder.
moist - gasoline
i saw this band play live about 10 years ago at edgefest in ottawa. david usher seemed kinda full of himself. i remember he released a solo album shortly after but i don't remember if it was good or not. all i remember was that there was a fish on the cover. err... he was holding a fish. or something. kay lansa.
our lady peace - starseed
now here's a band i really liked. this song in particular reminds me of many a morning in canada as i would get ready for school, as it gave me LSS in the 7th or 8th grade. good times, good times.
hayden - bad as they seem
this song is chill. i remember trying to learn how to play this song and being 'plaburgast' since you have to tune the guitar down one full step, and then tune the lowest string down to a G! as flo-rida would say, that's "low low low low low." the two lowest strings would be G strings. yes that sounds funny but i say it with a straight face. TWO G STRINGS. it's true.
someone who'll make me laugh.
someone to be my better half.
keep me warm under the sack.
share with me my midnight... snack.
