betlog's mention of canadian bands in my previous post prompted me to look for old songs that remind me of good times. thanks to youchoob, these songs are a few keyboard strokes and mouse clicks away. if you miss that 90s "alternative" sound in a canadian flavour, read on...
sloan - the good in everyone
i love songs with hand-claps. if i were in a band, every song would have hand-claps. seriously. the intro to the video for this song is a bit long, so you can fast forward to about 2:10 to go straight to the muzak.
rusty - misogyny
yes, the video is all about male prostitutes and their male clientele. awesome song nonetheless. charing!
treble charger - even grable
i like the intro to this song. i think the band was more known for their song 'red' but that song is kind of a downer to post.
age of electric - enya
another sweet but simple opening riff. don't remember much about this band except maybe two other songs...
i mother earth - raspberry
i've always liked this band. never really liked their name but the same can be said about a lot of good bands. there are urinals in the background of this video. how convenient! i have a weak bladder.
moist - gasoline
i saw this band play live about 10 years ago at edgefest in ottawa. david usher seemed kinda full of himself. i remember he released a solo album shortly after but i don't remember if it was good or not. all i remember was that there was a fish on the cover. err... he was holding a fish. or something. kay lansa.
our lady peace - starseed
now here's a band i really liked. this song in particular reminds me of many a morning in canada as i would get ready for school, as it gave me LSS in the 7th or 8th grade. good times, good times.
hayden - bad as they seem
this song is chill. i remember trying to learn how to play this song and being 'plaburgast' since you have to tune the guitar down one full step, and then tune the lowest string down to a G! as flo-rida would say, that's "low low low low low." the two lowest strings would be G strings. yes that sounds funny but i say it with a straight face. TWO G STRINGS. it's true.
someone who'll make me laugh.
someone to be my better half.
keep me warm under the sack.
share with me my midnight... snack.

I saks! I only know Enya huhuhu :( Will come back to watch the videos in full. Just working on something right now and this schoopid laptop is getting old and slowing down. Bleh.
Ever heard of Superconductor? They had like 8 guitarists in the band.
Whoa. I must have hated Canadians in my former life - I know nothing! Well, Enya of course but 1 out of 8??? Shets. Wut duh paaak. :(
